Who can participate
Anyone can participate. The event is for Texas A&M students, faculty & staff and the local Bryan and College Station community. Please get in touch with us if you are interested in participating and you are out of town.
Is there any fee associated with the event?
No. The event is free and includes free food, beverages and snacks throughout the night to keep you going.
Do I need to register?
Yes. You must register for the event. You may register up to the day of the event, but early registration will give you access to sample data and further information, so you can start brainstorming and team building.
What do I need to bring?
Bring your laptop and any other special gadgets and tools you may wish to use. We will have fast wi-fi, desks, food and drinks. Each participant will also have $20 worth of printing, 3D pringing, lasercutting credit. We will have access to our new MakerSpace, Woodshop, GIS lab with Adobe, CAD and GIS software.
Do I need to have a team?
No. You can come solo. We have slotted time for team-building at the beginning of the event. Up to 5 people can be in one team. You do not have to work in a team to take part in the event.
How are the prizes going to be awarded
We will award winning certificates at the end of the event. Awarded prize per team will be split equally between each team member and issued in a form of a digital gift card within a week following the event.
Where will the event be?
The event will take place in Langford Architecture Center - space TBC. We will collect you student ID card numbers to grant you night-time access to the building.
What kind of data will you supply and how can I get it?
We will have publically available data from the City of College Station and the City of Bryan in various formats. Watch this space for sample data.
